Citgo - Houston Christmas party! This was such a family fun Christmas party. Fireworks, adult gourmet food, children's carnival food, hot chocolate and dessert bars, video games, jumpers, carnival games, etc. Our boys and WE had the best time. Vary rarely are we "all" in a picture together so this was a must post! We dinned and played and ate right on the field :-)

Most of you know but some of you followers did not....

WE ARE MOVING BACK TO LAKE CHARLES, LA!!!!!!

We are very excited but will miss everyone that we have become so close with here in Katy, TX. We have been looking for several weeks for our new home but not much luck so we are probably going to be build our new home! We are letting the boys finish out the semester in Katy and they will start back in Lake Charles in January as we return from the holidays! Happy Holidays :-)

Mistletoe and Moss

November 16-19, 2011 I took "The Brown Bobbin" to my first holiday market. Mistletoe and Moss is my Junior League of Lake Charles' annual holiday market. Its such a large fundraiser in our community and raises funds for many of our amazing projects. With my mother in law helping Thomas and the boys and my mother helping me with orders while I monogrammed....it was a huge success and will be doing it again! Thank you both for helping, I couldn't have done it without you ladies. Here is my mother and I at preview party!

It was so much fun seeing old friends, new friends, old teachers, former students, family and just enjoying the holiday festivities and food. The market was so much fun and I kept super busy! My mother had to remind me several times that I had so many orders to do....so stop talking so much! HAHA! But it was so much fun catching up with everyone. It was crazy busy!!! I could get use to this :-) I have officially closed my shop, The Brown Bobbin until 2012.

Thomas took me to New York City for 3 nights without the boys!! YAY! We had the best time and realized we didn't take as many pictures as we thought. Here are a few. I will add the ones from my phone later. We had a blast and willl be going back :-0

We went to see Jersey Boys our last night. It was FABULOUS and Thomas even loved it. Such a great show!!

I am so thankful and blessed to have such loyal local and non local customers!!! I have been doing things as simple as adding names to their own items to making complete outfits for them, to making local school personalized ribbons for each player to donating to local schools, churches and LOVING every minute of it!!! Our baby boy is ONE! This year has flow by and has been so much fun. Simon is the happiest, laid back, gigglie little boy EVER! We have been celebrating his birthday all week and will continue until his big "Farm" party this weekend. I can't wait to post pictures. I just got a sneak peak of his cakes....AND THEY LOOK FABULOUS! Happy Birthday Sweet Simon :-)

Simon got tubes put in today. He is such a trooper! All of the doctors and nurses kept coming over to us and telling us how sweet and beautiful he was :-) He did great and surgery went smoother than anticipated.

June 20, 2011 - Louis Edward turned four years old. Wow! He is growing so fast! His big party is tomorrow (Saturday) so I will posted pictures from the party later. But here are a few pictures of his actual birthday day! Louis, thank you for making us laugh everyday, for being lazy when its time to do chores (he gets this from me haha), for always willing to give in and have good manners, for sharing your snacks with me, and being such a good brother! We love you as deep as the ocean blue :-)

We went to see Kong Fu Panda 2. It was great and Simon slept through the entire movie except the last 15 minutes. I think the fighting scared him for a second...he got out his big lip and then realized we have snacks! Good times :-)

Matagorda Bay

This morning (at 4:30am I might add) we drove down to Matagorda Bay. We went to play on the beach, build sandcastles and to do a little fishing. The boys had a blast. We wanted to pick up an ice chest of fresh oysters but we weren't able to get anymore live oysters until November. Matagorda was great! Afterwards we went to our neighborhood Summertime kickoff party at our clubhouse. What a fun Saturday :-)

Galveston Island Fun

We just got back from Galveston and had so much fun with The Browns and even the uncles came. This was our second trip to Galveston in the last 2 weeks. Just can't get enough :-) Its so nice to be able to just sneak off an hour away and be at the beach. Not exactly the best water, but still....THE BEACH! We all had a really good time. One the first trip Will got stung by a jellyfish after being at the beach for about 15 minutes...YES a jellyfish! Never a dull moment :-) He thought it was so neat to have such a cool story to tell his class when we got back.

The second trip we relaxed, swam at the hotel pool, went to palm beach, ate lots of yummy foods around the island, went to mass at St. Patrick's. The boys kept busy each night with the Moody Gardens "Kids Crew" activities. They had everything from hula hoop contests, limbo, face painting, smores, and a really fun Wii competition. Here are a few pictures from my camera phone.

Below are some pictures of "celebration of learning" for first grade. And meet our new pet - Troopy. Mrs. Turner had three fish this year and the top three students with the best behavior got to keep one...and Will won! Welcome Troopy Brown :-)

Thomas flew me to New Orleans to be with Rachel and the girls for her bachlorette weekend! We had blast, ate the best food, visited, laughed and left a BIG impression on Bourbon Street! Paula, Rachel, JoLeen, Kalea, Wendy, Emily and Lori. These was right after lunch :-)

We have had so much celebrating to do and we are just getting started! This weekend is a break for us and then we start celebrating again with friends all over Texas and Louisiana. So I wanted to catch up before I have too much on my camera :-) So here are a few pics from the past 2 weeks!

Jonesboro, AR - Brandon and Leanne - official Master's degrees! Yay! We welcomed the newest and finest Nurse Anesthetist to our family! (Hope I spelled that right!) We celebrated in downtown Memphis that night with a nice dinner at Majestic and took a trolley ride - AKA...according to Louis...we rode the Tamale...yep we live in Texas! :-) Very proud of them both for their accomplishments! We are said goodbye as they begin their new jobs in Virginia! Good Luck Uncle Brandon and Ms. Leanne!

Thomas and I on our way to the Citgo MDA charity cocktail party and dinner. We have gone every year since moving to Katy. But this time I wasn't expecting so I got to get dolled up and have some fun. I am such a luck lady to have Thomas! So handsome and such a great role model for our three boys! We has so much fun, raised some money for summer camp!

Scout Fair at Reliant Stadium. All I can say is WOW! I have never been and it was a sea of scouting uniforms. And many different colors that I came home to research....navy, yellow, kahki, green shirts...all mean something different. We all had fun going from booth to booth and seeing what each pack had to offer.

Sunday, April 3, 2011 Today was very adventurous and definitely worthy of taking note! We had the usual Sunday breakfast - pancakes, went to mass and came straight home to put on our "play" cloths. On the agenda: play out, shoot the BB gun for the very first time and take the boys to look at RV campers! We did it ALL and even though the camper store was closed, the accessory shop was open! The boys got a hoot out of all of the porta potties there and tried everything out in the store! Here are a few pictures!

Me and my Will and Louis! Simon napped the entire time that we were shooting! Shooting a BB gun for the first time is a big deal to me and they are super excited! We took the boys to the country to shoot...well sort of! Haha! We went behind our neighborhood clubhouse!

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 We are enjoying the time change! It is so nice to get home from school, homework, sports, cce and still have time to play outside :-) Here is what we have been up to these days!

Mrs. Turner and Will at the after school play date and snow cone and popcorn party. This play date is one of the items we bid on and won at the Camp Woodcreek Auction. And by the way, my ceramic plate looks fabulous! We love you Mrs. Turner!

Will Brown - Spring Season - Katy Pony Ball - Shetland 6 - Detroit Tigers! My very handsome ball player...perfect baseball bottom too :-) Louis is playing too! However he had to miss his first game because he had an allergic reaction to "everything" outside. He is much better and once I snap a picture of my little rockie I will post it!

This past weekend was Sportsfest for Katy Pony Baseball. This is one of the donation baskets I put together! It was a Ladies Pampering Basket! And one of Will and Louis' teammates mother (Kelli Hale) makes her own product line of makeups - bath salts! Hello everyone! Those of you wondering why I haven't posted in a while, sorry! We have been having alot of fun and I have been swamped with "The Brown Bobbin" orders. But I am just about caught up! I just love designed all of these precious little girl aprons, outfits, etc. Even the boys! I can whip up a birthday gift for a party in no time! And lately....it's been birthday party central! Average 2-3 a week! We love our friends!

You know being the only lady in the house definitely has its advantages :-)

A lady here in Katy ordered 25 of these monogrammed initial button from me for a party and so I decided to make these Will's class valentines day goodies. I think they turned out great. It was so much fun to see how proud Will was of me and the fact that I made this for his friends. When I went to drop of the basket yesterday, I saw that several of them had them on and some told me that they put on their backpacks because their momma didn't want to make a whole in a shirt. I just love those kiddos and their "truths" :-)

Christmas has come and gone and we are now beginning 2011. It will be hard for me to get use to writing 2011. We had a great Christmas and both families were able to come to Katy to visit us instead of going to Lake Charles. The boys stayed in their pajamas all of Christmas day just playing with their toys and enjoying family time. We spent 2 nights in San Antonio and had so much fun, we just love that city. We rang in the New Year at 8PM with friends and all of our kiddos with yummy gumbo.
Yesterday after mass we spent the day at the zoo and had a jambalaya picnic at the park. Thomas and Will ended the day at the Texans game. I think Will's favorite part every time is the concession stands! We have had such an amazing year and here's to many more memories and blessings here in Texas :-)

I AM THIRTY! Holy Cow! I am so very blessed and we have been celebrating for a week. So here is part one.

I took the boys to Carriage Inn today to visit with the elderly and to hand out candy canes. They were so excited and everyone just loved our boys :-) This sweet lady gave us a tour of the entire place. It's huge. There is even a spa there. I know where I will be retiring :-) She was just precious. No greater joy than spending time and visiting with those that don't get visitors very often. We will be going back more often. It was so special!

Lunch at Clay's. We were also celebrating Mrs. Beth's birthday!

We ended up with a home depot gift card and a roaster. Awesome gifts this year and more stealing! LOVE it!

Here are a few pictures of Will's first grade "thankful" party. We read a thankful story, they wrote what they were thankful on a huge turkey feather, played pin the feather on the turkey, created one of a kind rice crispy turkeys, enjoyed snacks and juice and took home a thankful pencil as their Friday prizes! Will is so blessed to have such a wonderful teacher :-)

Being homeroom mother is such a great reward! I love when they run up to me and throw their arms around me and say, "Hi Mrs. Brown", or "Hi Will's Mom!" It's so funny how over the years my name has changed! Here is the list: Lori Ann, Lori, Ms. Miller, Mrs. Brown, Thomas' wife and now Will's mom! I love how they know me as the mom with 3 boys, the one with big hair, the snack and juice mom, the classroom reader and the mom who "gets things together!" Ahhh, the sweet rewards :-) I wouldn't have it any other way!

As many of our eager neighbors already have up their Christmas lights, I am reminded that we haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet! We have so much to be thankful far and can't wait to spend time with our family in Louisiana.

Our boys bring so much joy, laughter and good "noise" to our lives! Babies are such sweet blessings. Our good friends Michael, Shelli and Kailey Barrett added a sweet little baby boy to their family this past week. We love you Jake! Yay for boys! Simon has a new playmate!

What a fun weekend...unfortunately I forgot my camera! Some of our highlights were getting baby toys out of the attic (and my old treasure box from teaching 1st grade...just like Christmas morning here :-), watching LSU win with some good friends and yummy pizza, making Christmas cookies and going to the Christmas tree lighting in la centerra.

First things first- Simon is ROLLING OVER and is GIGGLING LAUGHING OUT LOUD until he gets the hiccups! He has the cutest belly laugh! It is just precious! Will and Louis are excited because it's just another step closer to being able to run around together! Love my boys :-)

Tonight was so much FUN! We went to the Faith West Academy Football Playoff game. We love going to the FWA games. It is very old school and there is a huge hill that you can put a blanket down, sit back and watch the game! Will and Louis watched a little, played in the dirt and rolled down the hill! It was so nice cheering on my former high school boys and seeing all of my students. Everyone got to meet Simon too!

The boys got to see Ms. Sierra (our sitter)! Lets just say...they think she's hung the moon :-)

We have had a busy but very exciting week! I still can't believe how fast our boys are growing! It makes me happy and sad all at the same time!

I am so proud of Will for being so helpful, responsible and studious! Again, he gets this from Thomas :-) He had a PERFECT report card and made the principals list! Both he and Louis are in full swing with Fall baseball and that usually keeps us hopping all week :-)

Louis is such a funny, left handed little ball of fire! He makes us laugh all the time and has been drawing lots of pictures for Louis! He is such a little "daddy hen!" Always kissing, squeezing and showing things to Simon! He loves to change his socks :-)

Simon is a whopping 14 pounds, drinks 40 ounces of formula a day and has had his first bite of baby food....bananas! Here has what we have been up to!

Thomas is staying busy with work, golfing, coaching the boys teams, and being assistant den dad for Will's tiger cub scouts! He LOVES those boys :-)

It's Columbus Day and Will is off of school! Louis loves having his big brother home with him! They are still in their pajamas and watching Scooby Doo while Simon is napping and I am updating our blog :-) We have been having so much fun and loving the cooler temperatures. Our church, St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Bazaar was yesterday! They boys had a blast and we ate some yummy food :-) What a great Sunday!

We welcomed Simon Thomas into our Catholic faith this weekend. What a special day and ceremony! Father Greig, whom married us and has baptized our boys, was able to perform a private baptism for us at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Lake Charles, LA! Thank you Father Greig for making time for us and graciously letting Will and Louis participate in this special sacrament :-)

First Week of School!

Will has survived his first week of school and LOVES it! He is so proud when I drop him off to walk by himself but I must admit it makes me a little sad to see him growing up so fast. When I pick him up he always has a smile and can't wait to tell me about his day...or who had to pull a stick on the behavior chart :-) Thomas took him to a Texans last night for having such a great week. And they got to spend some extra special time together while Simon, Louis and I went to a clothing party!

Simon is so aware of those big brothers! Simon started cooing and smiling when he sees them. Its precious. I was able to capture it on camera too! He loves them so much and they love him right back. Will and Louis are so sweet and gentle with Simon...it just warms our hearts! Simon is getting so much needed "meat" on his little bones! AND he eyes are SO blue! He is almost seven weeks and is already 10 pounds!

Louis misses Will but has been keeping busy with me and Simon. Some highlights include making cookies, cupcakes and brownies and licking the bowl, play dates, lunch dates, swimming, lots of board games, swinging, library, t ball and children's museum this week. Here are a few pics!

Will is officially a FIRST grader! He woke up so excited and ready to go :-) You can tell by his BIG smiles! Everyone walked him to his classroom this morning. He was such a proud big brother.
Will walked in and gave his teacher, Mrs. Turner, her back to school present and went immediately to his desk (so studious) and began his seat work. No doubt he gets that from Thomas!

Summer is quickly coming to an end! Let me just say......I think we have been celebrating Thomas turning 30 for a whole week! His "official" birthday was Wednesday, July 28th. We went out to eat with friends at a local pizzeria. The kiddos had a blast and played games. Afterwards we had an LSUcake and ice cream at home.

Saturday, July 31st was the big "friends" party at our house. He had a great turn out and had lots of fun with his friends and Andrew drove in to celebrate! Thomas and Andrew grilled all day - ribs, briskets, sausage, etc. It was so yummy! The boys and I decorated carrot cake cupcakes for everyone. The Bradley's had sleep over at our house and Mia, Cole, Will and Louis had the BEST time together!

Sunday, we went out to lunch to celebrate the big 3-0 with the Bradley's. We love Mexican and went to Vida Loca. Afterwards we swam and went to evening mass!

What a milestone and so happy to celebrate with everyone! What a great week! Here are a few pictures of the festivities. HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOMAS! Now it's Will's turn...he is turning SIX!

The rain held off long enough for me to get all of my errands completed today! I am almost finished making a Jon Jon for Simon. I just need to add the button holes and get it monogrammed. But I am pretty proud of myself!

After lunch our friends Kate, Jack and Claire came over to play. They brought us sugar cookies and icing to decorate. Will ate his before I could get a picture :-) So these are Louis' creations!

Once they left it started raining cats and dogs here in Katy! So they boys and I played Lego's and board games. We just finished dinner and this is what we are up to next - POPCORN and a movie! What a great way to end the day :-)

Simon is now twelve days old! His belly cord has fallen off and he completed his newborn screening. He is actually a great shopping partner! He blows and goes with us and all of our FUN adventures. Will is so helpful and pushes his infant stroller. When Louis and Simon are both asleep together as we are out and Will and I each get a stroller...too cute! And get some extra time in!

Will and I went on a dinner date this week with his former Kindergarten teacher and classmates. Good times! Friday night Thomas grilled fish and veggies and we watched a family movie.

Saturday we had another birthday party at our Clubhouse. The boys swam, slide, and splashed away :-) Afterwards we went to mass and to Simon's first Astros game! He slept through the entire game! The boys loved sitting three rows behind the Astros dug-out. Every time the players exit the field, they always made it a point to way to our sweet boys!

Saturday, July 17, 2010:

Simon is now 4 days old and we have been home for two days and haven't skipped a beat! We went shopping yesterday and went to Simon's first doctors appointment. Early this morning, Thomas took Will and Louis fishing in a pond right by our house! They had a great time and even caught a fish!

Afterwards we went to Anna's first birthday party, went shopping in Sugar Land and we are about to go over to our neighbors house to relax and let our kiddos play! Here are a few pictures of our first two days home.

Wednesday June 14, 2010:

We welcomed our third baby boy, Simon Thomas, July 13, 2010 at 1:30PM here in Katy. We are still in the hospital but are hoping to be going home tomorrow. Baby and Mommy are doing great!
Simon is 7 lbs. 8 oz and 18.75 inces long. He is a healthy, happy and beautiful baby and we couldn't be more blessed right now! Will and Louis are back and forth visiting their little brother an can't hold him enough :-) Here are a few "first" pictures!

Fourth of July Weekend Celebration!

I just love when we have four day weekends together! They are usually jammed packed with fun, food, and friends! And we have the BEST! Thomas cooked breakfast lunch and dinner Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday! Such a nice treat! He is a great cook, father, and husband! We can't wait to welcome in Simon to our sweet little family. Here are a few pictures of our fourth of July long weekend celebration! Our neighborhood party, La Centerra, ball-all stars, fireworks, and swimming!

Sunday night - La Centerra in Katy fireworks display was the best yet! Our neighbors met us there and they had a blast hanging out in the back of Thomas' truck with their glow sticks! Precious family!

Louis was asleep before we left the parking lot. Will on the other hand was ready to pop fireworks with all of our cul-de-sac clan and he stayed up until almost midnight...having a blast!

Our neighborhood had a great party Saturday evening at our clubhouse...late until the fireworks display at 9:30. The boys stayed up and had such a fun time We swam, ate popcorn, ice cream, and had a great time!

9 Days to go until Simon arrives! It has been raining here in Katy for 2 days straight and we have been coming up with all kinds of indoor activities. I have just about hung every piece of clothing in Simon's closet and noticed two things! I think he is prepared! And the other is that he has an overwhelming amount of white onesies in every size! So I decided to JAZZ up a few of them! Here are a few pictures...more to come!

And the count down begins.........................! Simon will be arriving at noon on Tuesday, July 13th! We are so excited and can't wait to meet and hold our third little baby boy and welcome him home! We have such amazing friends here in Katy and wanted to say thank you to everyone! What a great week! Sunday, June 27, 2010:

Since we went to mass yesterday afternoon, we didn't have much planned for today! We decided to pack a picnic lunch and headed to the zoo! IT WAS SO HOT! But the boys didn't seem to mind at ALL! Most of the animals were out and were cooling off in the water...even the elephants and that was a treat to see! Baylor, the newest elephant (born in May) is already at a whopping 348 pounds.

Will discovered today that giraffes are in their mommies tummies for 14.5 months! WOW! We ended the evening by the pool with friends to cool off! Things around here do not seem to be slowing down anytime soon and we couldn't be more excited about Simon's arrival! Here are some fun pictures of our Summer, Sunday, Funday!

Saturday, June 19, 2019 - Louis birthday weekend!

What a great weekend to celebrate our sweet little boy turning three! He had so much fun playing with all of his friends and family. He held his beach themed birthday party at our clubhouse and it couldn't have been more fun! We started the day there around 10am and left around 2pm. I think he will agree that he had a blast!

Louis loves Will to pieces and is always trying to keep up with him - toys, friends, tricks, lego, and his DS. So Louis finally got his own DS...a red one at that! His favortie color! What a great birthday weekend!

Summertime - what would it be without a lot of playing, swimming, day camps, vacations, popscicles, vacation bible school, and celebrating all three (and soon to be four) boys birthday parties.

First up is Louis. His party is this Saturday at our clubhouse! He chose a beach ball theme. Pinata will even be a beach ball! So fun! Here is a picture of the "goodie buckets" for the boys and the girls. It is going to be such a fun party with 26 of his little friends!

Event Agenda for summer : June - Louis; July -Simon and Thomas (30th birthday); August our Anniversary and Will's birthday. Whoa!

Dear Citgo Friends,

We wanted to thank you again for taking time to visit with us last week, enjoying a piece of carrot cake and for the very generous gifts.

I took the boys shopping and they each picked out a rolling suitcase. They are precious and much needed with Simon's arrival coming around the corner for grandparent - overnight visits.

They also picked out a few things for Baby Simon. Will picked out 3 bath towels and matching wash clothes. Louis picked out a hippo and giraffe bib and burp cloth set. They are precious and will come in handy when Simon gets here! I know we will have some helpers at bath time.

I have been having so much fun making these shirts! Here are a couple for you to see. This all started with Will's class project - "Ireland!" He needed to dress the part and I couldn't find a shirt I liked...so I stole my good friend Kaela's idea from her blog! I think they turned out great and I am loving the fact that I made them :-)
