Snow in Houston and Christmas Crafts!

Emma (Will's second cousin) and Will hang out together for a playdate!
We found Elfy in an unusual spot this morning...on the corner clock! He is so creative and it is a blast for Will and Louis to find each morning.
Monte the Monkey...it was our turn to spend two weeks with him...we brought him everywhere. This is a picture of Monte and Will enjoying story time at the library!

The Houston Museum of Natural Science
They brought in snow for the children of all ages to play in. It was about 4 inches think. The boys had a blast slipping around and making little snowmen. We had to keep the snow out of Louis' mouth...he thought it was so yummy! Afterwards, we enjoyed popcorn and running up and down the hill at the Herman Park!

Chef William!

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Chef William!

Will has really been a BIG help in the kitchen lately. He can chop, slice, kead, roll, stir, and lick the bowl without leaving a drop...except for his face! He is growing way too fast. Next Tuesday we are having a lot of my mommy friends and their kidos over to have a holiday party.

There will be about 35 people so Will was helping me get things together. The theme will be All Aboard the Polar Express. I will read the story to the children and afterwards make crafts - jingle bell and beaded necklaces, wreath ornaments for them to take home, goody bags. We wil snack on cookies and milk, hot rich chocolate, fudge, candy canes, spiced mulled tea, juice, and everyone else is bringing a dish.

Will and I also made reindeer food to share with our guests. Making and sprinkling the reindeer food (chex cereal, oatmeal, glitter, and sequins in a ziploc bag) as a family has been a tradition for us and we loook forward to it each year. I hope these are some memories my boys will be able to share with their children.

Today, while Louis napped, Will helped me roll out the dough to make our ornaments for our "ornament painting party" tomorrow! We will let you know how they turn out.

Completed Tree!

Here is a picture of our tree , except for our tree topper...the gold fleur de lis tree topper keeps falling over so we will work on that! HA!

Picking the Perfect Tree!

After mass, we went to find the perfect tree! We found our tree right here in Katy. This is a picture of the tree before we decorated it and I will update the finished tree once I snap a picture of it! Here are some pictures of the boys I took! Hope you enjoy!

New Brown Family Tradition
Elf on the Shelf is a new tradition we are starting each year (thank you Nana!) Every evening, we read the Elf on the Shelf story and place him in a new spot each night. If Will and Louis have been very good boys that day...Elfy flies up to the North Pole to tell Santa. He returns back before they wake up in a different spot! The Magic is working! This is a picture of Will the first morning he found him. He was in the nativity scene!

Skateboarding!

Will is patiently waiting for Elfy to fly to the North Pole!

I found him next to Mary and Joseph!

Thanksgiving in Lake Charles!
We spent Thanksgiving lunch at the Brown's house and Thanksgiving dinner with my parents. The boys had a blast and enjoyed seeing everyone!

Tacos! Tacos! We want Tacos!
Our sudivision still has homes being built so the Taco Truck comes around to a couple of times a day to feed all of the workers! Will was so interested in the taco truck so we finally gave in and let him get some. It was very similar to the Ice Cream Man...they come around and play Spanish Music! They enjoy the experience and gave the drivers a laugh!

Going on a Lizard Hunt!
We were invited to join some friends on a lizard hunt at a local park! Will and Louis both brought their lizard hunting boxes with them.... it was a very cute idea. She hid plastic lizard all of the the park and we had a nice picnic afterwards.

We had lunch at the Katy Mills Mall with our friends Kailey and Charlotte. They were so tired from playing at the child's center...but not too tired to eat!

Playdate with Jack! We went over to our new friend Jack's house to play. He is in between Louis and Will's age but they both have fun playing with him. Will shows him all kinds of new tricks. His mom Kate and I have so much in common...it is nice to have another good friend here!

Enjoying the Weather in Houston!

Sunday, November 16, 2008

After 11:15AM mass...we were off to the Houston Zoo. It is about a 25 minute drive from Katy. Anytime we are in the car for longer than 10 minutes...Louis falls asleep. He slept for the first hour at the zoo.

The last time we were there, we were still expecting Louis and Will was almost three. He remembered a lot of the exhibits from last time. Since we have a family membership, I am sure we will be visiting often.

Will really liked the petting zoo section. He got to pet a cat, get close to an owl, and pet a Chinchilla. He also got a chance to brush miniature goats. It was kind of funny to watch all of the children chasing after these little guys with hair brushes!

Louis loved the big elepants and the ducks! He quacked his way to each part of the zoo! After three hours of walking around...an ICEE was in order! They don't served drinks with lids or straws at the zoo...that would hinder the animals safety! We ate every last drop and it looked like we all had on bright RED lipstick!

Early this morning, we started putting the swingset, fort, and trampoline back together from the move. Will and Louis had so much fun helping with all of Thomas' tools. I even found them playing hide and seek in Charlie's dog house. So fun!

Thursday, November 13, 2008

We had another playdate with one of my "Stay at Home Mom's" Groups. It was at Isabella and Jernigan's home. The boys had so much fun making new friends and fall crafts. We made noodle necklaces, turkey cookies, and pilgrim hats to name a few. Will and Louis got a chance to make some new friends in Katy.

Will loves to help me in the kitchen. Chef Will is a super chopper! He has his own cutting board and safe knives. This is a picture of him cutting green onions.
