Decorations and A Flat Tire

Monday, June 29, 2009

I love to decorate but am not a very crafty person when it comes to making curtains or sewing.
However, I was on a mission to find custom made drapes that were 60" x 150" and I needed five. Needless to say, I searched high and low and couldn't find them. So, I decided that if I found the fabric, I would make them myself.

Did I mention I started this "project" 4 days before Louis' party (Tuesday)? Crazy! This the fabric I fell in LOVE with. It is black and a goldish, copper color. But, they didn't' have enough...I needed 20 yards. I had to wait two days for my fabric to be shipped to Katy .

So, I had to complete the project by Friday afternoon, before everyone arrived! AND I DID :-) I am so proud of myself. I didn't' realize how difficult it was to get a picture of the drapes without the sun being the conflict, so I finally got one!
We also finished decorating the Balcony. This isn't a very good picture of it, but our hallway chandelier kept getting in the way upstairs!

I also ran over not one, but two nails. Of course it couldn't be patched and we had to buy a new one...just my luck!

Monkey See...Monkey Do...Louis is TWO!

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Louis is officially a two year old. Thomas, Will and I gave him a Ford F150 truck (similar to Thomas'). He was so excited and wanted to drive it right away...even though it was 6:30 in the morning! No more fighting over the Gator! Yippee.

We let him ride and then loaded up and headed to the Houston Zoo for his party. Will and Louis had so much fun, I don't think they noticed the blazing hot temperatures :-) Several family and friends were on vacation, but we had a good turn out. Here are some pictures of the party and day at the zoo!

We stayed at the zoo until about 1 or so. We loaded the boys up and headed home to Katy. They both fell asleep right away in the car...they were so pooped! I had to prop their little heads with blankets because they were in the deep sleep and their head were bobbing around :-) Sweet memories.

When they woke up from their naps, we headed to the pool to swim. Uncle Andrew stayed another night with us so they were very excited! We splashed and swam and will went down the slides! We came back home and made fajatas for Louis' birthday dinner! Happy Birthday my little Louis! We love you so much!

Sprinklers and Summertime Fun!

GO TIGERS!

Friday, June 19, 2009

WOW! I can't believe Summer is finally here! Here are some random pictures that we have taken since the last posting. So far this summer, I have done a lot more decorating :-) Which I LOVE to do! I have never made curtains before and I took on a large project...making five 60 x 150" draped pannels. I am so proud of myself and they look amazing. I will post a picture. Thomas has installed the sprinkler system in our yard and it works amazing!

We try to go swimming everyday...sometimes twice! Will has really knocked our socks off this summer with his swimming. Our Clubhouse and Pools have a huge waterslide and several smaller ones. He is now able to "man" the large on his own, fight the current, and swim all the way over to the other side of the pool! I can't believe he is going to be five in August.

He is a picture I took of one of our family portraits...doesn't that seem like so long ago? I was expecting Louis then.

Speaking of Louis, he will be two years old tomorrow. We are having his party at the Houston Zoo in the morning. Lots of family and friends are driving in to celebrate with us. We are so blessed to have many wonderful friends here in Katy that are like "family" to us! Love you all!
